Know Before You Go

American Fork Canyon and the backside of Mt. Timpanogos are incredibly majestic, yet harsh. To the unprepared – these areas can claim lives.
To those prepared, the rewards and beauty are priceless.

Have a plan, tell others where you are going and when you will return.
Be prepared. Travel in groups. Be aware of the weather conditions.
Have a method to communicate.

Communication

There are many ham radio repeaters that can be used for communication.
We urge all who venture into the backcountry to obtain their ham radio license.
